Grape variety: Dunaj – local grape variety, (Muscat Bouchet x Oporto) x Saint Laurent

Sugar content of must: 25 °NM

Date of harvest: 5.10.2019

Alcohol by volume: 15 %

Residual sugar: 2,4 g/l

Acidity: 5,2 g/l

Vineyard: Szentlászló Vineyard (Bátorove Kosihy, Slovakia), organic farming and biological protection

Soil: loamy, clay, loess soil, in some parts sand

Winemaking process: hand-picked, spontaneous fermentation at 23°C with hand – punch downs, spontaneous malolactic fermentation in older 225 l hungarian oak barrels, maturation 16 months on gross lees without stirring, bottled unclarified and unfiltered

Aroma and taste: Wine with dark red colour, full-bodied, operating with soft and smooth tannins. Strong fruity flavours – overriped cherry, marmelade notes, aftertaste with variety-typical bitter chocolate. Higher sugar content of must gives a fiery character. Any precipitation of tartare crystals or sediment that may appear is a natural process, it does not affect the quality of the wine.

Food pairing: steak, calf cheeks, grilled and roasted pork / venison in various versions (mainly with mushroom or red wine sauce), chocolate desserts, espresso, smaller cigars with a lighter taste
