International Rosé Championship 2021 – Gold Medal (13th place out of 260 samples)

 

Classification: Quality semi-dry rosé wine with a protected designation of origin

Wine family: Fresh

Grape variety: 50% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Blaufränkisch

Sugar content of must: 21,5 °NM

Date of harvest:  CS and Blaufränkisch 25.9.2020, Syrah 29.10.2020

Alcohol by volume: 12,5 %

Residual sugar: 9,5 g/l

Acidity: 6,7 g/l

Vineyard: Szentlászló Vineyard (Bátorove Kosihy, Slovakia), organic farming and biological protection

Soil: loamy, clay, loess soil, in some parts sand

Winemaking process: hand- picked, short maceration, reductive processing, controlled fermentation – first part at lower, second at higher temperatures, maturation in stainless steels, 3 months on fine lees, coupage, one filtration before bottling

Aroma and taste: Lovely, playful wine with flavours of grapefruit, red berries and cassis, aftertaste with some creamy notes. Wine based on higher acid content, balanced with residual sugar. Precipitation of tartaric crystals is a natural process and doesn’t affect the wine’s quality.

Food pairing: long range of foods, thanks to it’s acidity and residual sugar, it can show a lot of other faces based on the combination with the food – it supports creamy foods, patés, nicely plays with fishes, white meat and not very sweet foods (ex. fruit salads), but not with desserts

Serving temperature: between 8 – 10 °C

Bottle maturity: 2 – 3 years

Bottle capacity: 0,75 L
